For a long time, my career was built entirely in IT operations, leading service delivery and program management for large organizations, most recently as Director of IT Operations. I loved the work, but after an unexpected layoff it was time for me to set my own destiny: a business Sarah and I could build together and eventually hand down, not just manage for someone else.

When Sarah and I started looking seriously at franchise ownership, we weren't looking for just any concept. We wanted something with a real, differentiated model and room to grow into a genuine regional operation rather than a single location. That's where working with Chris Davenport and Davenport Franchise Solutions made the difference.

Chris took the time to listen and understand what we were looking for and what our background could support, rather than just handing us a list of available territories. Kitset Assembly Services was outside of what we had initially intended to consider, but Chris brought the opportunity to us anyway, and it turned out to be a perfect fit. We liked the chance to help grow a new concept here in the US, and after meeting the Kitset leadership team, we were sold.

Chris did a great job matching our business culture requirements with a team that not only understood them but would genuinely support them.

Kitset stood out immediately. The business model made sense, the brand was strong, and the opportunity to become a Master Franchisee for the North Georgia territory, rather than a single unit, matched the scale we were after.

With Chris's help navigating that process, we formed Northern Georgia Assembly Management (NGAM) and signed the Master Area Franchise Agreement covering North Georgia's 52 territories, spanning greater Atlanta, the North Georgia mountains, and the Athens region, a market of about 5.6 million people.

Since signing, things have moved quickly. We've built out detailed territory market research and financial projections, put together a full business plan, and started laying the groundwork to recruit and support unit franchisees across the territory. It's been a big step from a career spent managing other people's operations to now building our own, and we're excited for what's ahead.

I'm glad we worked with Chris and the Davenport Franchise Solutions team on this journey, and we'd recommend them to anyone seriously considering franchise ownership.
